After they got some ideas down, the campers began to gather equipment and start some preliminary testing to develop their experimental set-ups. They always think it will work on the first attempt/configuration, however it never does.

Day 7: On your mark, get set, MINI-PROJECT!
Well, we have covered every part of performing a project. From research, to formulating a hypothesis, to data collection, to data analysis, and drawing conclusions. We started Tuesday with the campers being broken into groups, each with a CIT. They then started to brainstorm possible ideas and things they could test this week as part of their mini-projects.

After they got their ideas approved by Mr. Tower and myself, they started doing the necessary research to get ready to write their hypothesis and justification.

I was quite happy to see many of the campers actually using books as reference tools. I think most students forgot what a book was in recent years, kidding (sort of).

Tomorrow they will get the rest of their kinks worked out, and then start collecting data!
